Solink 'Sonar' on Impressum

Impressum's 2025 remains in full swing with the label's fifth release of the year, 'Sonar' from Solink, landing at the start of August. Following on from a run that has already included records from Paradoks, Adam Sellouk, and the label's collaborative 'Internal' project, this new cut arrives with a sparse percussive shell wrapped around a harmonic core, a balance that keeps it both functional and affecting. The production is weighted towards its harmony, with a moderately free low end beneath the peaks and a treble that stays subdued; the result is a record that feels open and airy, at home in the high-summer conditions of Lisbon and Berlin.

The support has been immediate. Fideles pulled 'Sonar' into their Symbiosis III chart, placing it fourth and fifth across their two editions, and in both cases it sat alongside a selection that leaned heavily on Impressum material, with eight of the ten records in the chart coming from the label.
