Ranta, Dulus, Miroshin 'Pandemonium' on Rubicunda

Everything is precisely placed in 'Pandemonium', from Ranta, Dulus and Miroshin, right down to the way the chords push up against the drums without ever crowding them, and the drums themselves, which are settled and confident and kept down in level, so the surface of the record stays free for the peaks. It came out on Rubicunda in January, and it is the kind of organic house record that knows exactly how to hold a room: there is more chord than drum in it, and the top end is temperate, never harsh, so it can play long into a set.

There is a silver fade to the light on 24 Mar in Miami, as the full moon rises over La Otra Wynwood. Tim Green plays there that night, with Sebastien Leger, Newman, Khen and Eli Nissan, and Green has 'Pandemonium' fifth on his Silver Fade Chart, which is a good sign of where it sits in his imagination: not the opener, not the peak, but the place where the night turns.
