Patrice Baumel, Chiara Gamo 'Luce' on Kompakt Extra

'Luce', featuring Chiara Gamo, marks Patrice Baumel and Chiara Gamo's first release on Kompakt Extra since 'Grace / Puppets' in March 2019, a gap of about five years. The track, filed as Melodic House and Techno, was released on the label in November, and Hernan Cattaneo placed it second of 10 in his own Sunsetstrip MDZ chart on 5 December.

'Luce' is also Kompakt Extra's third release of 2024, matching the label's full count for the year to date. The mix shares its weight evenly between drum and harmony, with an even pattern running beneath it. It sits loud and forward, with little movement under its peaks, and the top end runs airy, an open, present read. Second of 10, on a return five years in the making, is a strong result for a relationship picking back up after so long apart.
