As Above & Beyond closed their year with a chart of their favourites, they found space for Dirty Vegas' 'Underwater', a track that arrived on their label in November. The chart was almost entirely an Anjunabeats affair, 10 of the 11 selections coming from the label's own output.

The Extended Mix of 'Underwater' is built on warm, sustained chords and a patient melodic swell, with the drums kept low and unhurried, letting the harmonic material carry the momentum. It is a record more concerned with atmosphere and build than with percussive urgency, sitting in the open space between vocal house and the deeper end of the label's catalogue.

'Underwater' was the 77th release Anjunabeats put out in 2024, a steady year of output that has kept the label at the centre of its scene.
