Meduza, Poppy Baskcomb 'Upside Down' on AETERNA Records

Meduza was on the bill at Hï Ibiza on 7 July, for a night billed as David Guetta and Morten present Future Rave, alongside David Guetta, Shall Ocin and Arielle Free. 'Upside Down', featuring Poppy Baskcomb, lands on AETERNA Records, filed as Melodic House and Techno, and Sander Van Doorn placed it fourth of 10 in his own chart on 19 June, while Laidback Luke placed it fifth of 12 in his Waiting For U chart on 9 June.

Meduza's catalogue runs to 21 releases since July 2019, weighted heavily toward Armada Music Albums, which accounts for nine of them; the most recent before this was 'Pegasus', on Anjunadeep, in February. The chords carry 'Upside Down', with the drums leaving plenty of room around them. Levels and headroom both sit moderate, and the top of it runs dark, a spacious, atmospheric mix that leaves space for the vocal to sit forward. Two charts, two placings inside the top five, is a good account of how far this one has already travelled.
