Hernan Cattaneo, Hicky & Kalo 'Voyage' on Plaisirs Sonores Records

The release of 'Voyage', made by Hernan Cattaneo, Hicky & Kalo and remixed by Denis Horvat, lands on Plaisirs Sonores Records on Friday 31 May 2024. And with the release comes, in due course, this premiere on the eve of the Ibiza season's busiest weeks.

Cattaneo is charting the record himself. On 30 Jul, seven days before his own showcase at Chinois Ibiza on 4 Aug, Cattaneo's chart placed the Denis Horvat Remix seventh of 10 in his own 'Latest 10 Productions' chart; the same bill carries Franky Wah and KALISMÃ. The label explains: "Following the great success of Hernan Cattaneo and Hicky & Kalo's single 'Voyage' that reached Beatport Progressive House #1, Plaisirs Sonores Records will present two awesome remixes to complete the triptych. The first remix come by Croatian-born and Danish-bred master Denis Horvat who elevates the track in his own style and gives it the power to crush any dancefloor into an epic voyage of sound."

Denis Horvat's remix is constructed around tone. Here, a busy drum figure is locked to a solid bassline, and the sound is loud under its peaks, little give in the groove; its top end is kept dim, letting a dreamy chord sequence and vocal chant push through the mix to hypnotic effect. That is how Horvat achieves the power that the label promises, and this is how 'Voyage' becomes an epic voyage of sound.
