Guy J 'Cosmos' on Dantze

Marsh has placed Guy J's 'Cosmos' sixth of ten in his 'Reimagined' Chart of 13 December, an honour given a peak 122 BPM workout from the Israeli. With a dense hit pattern that sits level between the drum and harmony, there is little movement under peaks, so it lives on the loud and forward tip. A treble that carries is crucial: it keeps air in the ride and lets the mix stay level between weight and attack.

'Cosmos' arrives 1 Dec 2023 on Dantze. It is release 171 for the artist since 27 November 2006, the bulk on Bedrock Records (51) with another 38 on his Lost & Found label, and 10 on Anjunadeep. The most recent before this was 'Essay (Remixes)' on Get Physical Music from 20 October 2023.

This one is for the heads and for the big rooms. It moves in a straight line and does not look for corners. The track comes in G minor, so it will not feel bright anywhere, but the energy is positive and there is a useful tension in that contradiction. What seems dark is only darker for its clarity.
