Tinlicker 'Blowfish' on [PIAS] Electronique

Tinlicker placed 'Blowfish', in the Extended Version, first of 10 in his own 'Cold enough for Winter' chart on 17 February. The label's grip on that chart runs deep: of every ten records listed, the name of [PIAS] Electronique sits beside more than half of them. 'Blowfish' itself had only just arrived on the label, released a single day earlier, on 16 February, ahead of the chart that placed it first among a crowded field of ten.

Blowfish leans hard on its percussion, full and busy without spilling into a bigger sound than it needs. It is a percussion-forward cut, from a label that already carries more names than any other on that same crowded list, a reach few labels this year can match.
