Solique 'Ordinary Things' on ICONYC
For his recent DEADBEAT chart, Enamour placed Solique's 'Ordinary Things (Spada Remix)' at number six. It comes on ICONYC, a label with a long history of melodic house and techno releases.
The track is a record defined by its drums. They run throughout, are never content to sit still; fills surface across the arrangement, often at the front of a mix, refusing to settle at the back, where they have plenty of incident to offer. The drums are loud, tight, and they sit close against the track's peaks, which adds a level of friction and urgency to the record. That leaves the top end with a lot of air. A distinctive record that is remixed with skill.
This was Solique's first release on ICONYC since his original version of 'Ordinary Things' back in July of 2024, and it comes at a time when Lisbon's spring is in full bloom. With the release arriving on 25 April 2025, it follows about nine months after that original.

On our first remix, Spada steps up to the plate with a gorgeous percussive foundation that sets a most flavorful mood before meandering flanger squelches uncover a warm bassline that gently invites us deeper inside this lush take on Ordinary Things. Smoldering yet restrained, Spadas velvet-laced reinterpretation suddenly reveals a tantalizing break in the clouds as every element converges into the void, exploding in a splendid genesis of a third act where icy arpeggios intertwine, traversing endlessly across the piece in an unrepeatable sliver of bliss.
The second version of Ordinary Things comes courtesy of Volar, who devises a throbbing low-end pulse that runs amok through the grit. As mangled vocals lend a gloomy and mysterious feel to this reinterpretation, the Dutch producer reveals a tantalizing lead that slithers across the piece, drawing hypnotic figures in mid-air while leading to a showstopping core where everything dissolves into the ether before resuming its unstoppable midnight march.
Our final remix in this comprehensive package is a most unique take and showcases Olive Hatakes unmistakable sonic signature as the Irish artist reconfigures Ordinary Things into a full-blown technicolor skitterish hybrid. Driving Soliques dazzling original into new territory, Olive pushes the tempo and unleashes a myriad of cascading arpeggios that interlock with swelling synths and an earth-quaking bassline for a wild ride across Rainbow Road.
Wrapping up this gemstone of a remix package, Luigi R. Gargano makes a sensational debut on ICONYC with a much-cherished Piano Version. Intimate as ever, this breathtaking delivery finds the famed Italian pianist lowering his defenses as he strips Ordinary Things to its naked core, allowing for its story to be told by a rummaging piano that walks across the halls of yesterday in search for answers it might never come to find.
