Roger Martinez 'Shunyata' on Timeless Moment
Timeless Moment marked the release of Roger Martinez's 'Shunyata' with a note that read, "As the final notes of 2024 resonate into eternity, we stand at the threshold of reflection and celebration." The track, on Timeless Moment and filed as Progressive House, was released on 27 December 2024. Guy J placed it third of 10 on his 'Music For May' chart on 7 May, deep into Berlin's May season.
Roger Martinez has released 94 records since 9 February 2007, the heaviest share on Superordinate Music with 10, Proton Music and Vapour Recordings eight apiece and Soundteller Records seven; his most recent before this was 'Samadhi / Multiverse', on WARPP, on 20 December 2024. It is also his first release on Timeless Moment since 18 October 2024's 'Timeless ADE 2024', a gap of about two months.
Percussion runs out in front here, over a busy drum figure, a middling record with some give beneath its peaks and a bright top end that lifts the whole mix. It carries real weight for a producer this far into a long career, still finding fresh shapes rather than repeating old ones, and a third place finish on that chart, among 10 tracks, says plenty about how well the piece landed.
