Bedouin's Heavy On My Mind chart on June 27 placed the Afro house single, Osfur UVITA & The Scripture 'AGAMA' (Human By Default) fifth out of twelve tracks. The support came as the pair prepared to play at Chinois Ibiza in Ibiza the next day, June 29, where they presented SAGA. The Opening. Jimi Jules b2b Trikk and AGELESS also appeared on the bill.

Recorded for a recent full release stream, 'AGAMA' is led by harmony rather than percussion. The track first makes its intent clear with a thick run of percussion, then adds layered textures that feel loud and forward. There is little movement under the peaks, only a shaded top end that breaks against them. The effect is a sound that seems to hang in the air even as the next pulse begins.

Bedouin have been open about their fondness for the label, with four of the twelve records in their Heavy On My Mind chart coming from Human By Default.

The Scripture is the musical brainchild of UVITA and OSFUR, two established producers in their own right with releases on top labels such as Nervous, Madorasindahouse, Get Physical, and Magnifi k between them. Following their recent smash hit ‘Permission To Move’ on the latter, which saw support from big names like Röyksopp and Mind Against, the pair now turn in an epic double A-side for Bedouin’s Human By Default under their newly minted alias The Scripture.

Leading the release is title track ‘AGAMA’, a dramatic ride through deep and heady sonic waters. Spine-tingling synths, hypnotic rhythms, and brooding basslines cast waves of euphoria and tension throughout the track to make for a driving and powerful opener. ‘AREA 3344’ is one to get heads down and feet marching: late-night, organic beats pepper the lithe groove while twinkling pads, heavenly vocals, and mystical leads add cosmic colour.
