Magdalena (DE) 'Midnight Embrace' on Oddity Records

'Midnight Embrace' is Oddity Records' third release of 2024, matching the label's full count for the year to date. The track, filed as Melodic House and Techno, came out on the label in June, and Miss Monique placed it sixth of 12 in her Every Breath chart on 27 July, a field that also carried Austin Pettit's 'Fractal', on Siona Records, at fifth.

Sixth of 12 is a fair mid-table result for a label that has only put out three records all year, each one carrying more weight for it than a busier catalogue's output would. A finish this close to the middle of the field, on a label this careful about what it releases, reads as a deliberate result rather than a lucky one.
