Lizwi, Joezi 'Amathole ft. Lizwi' on Wired

'Tayllor Remix' comes on Wired, via a remix package of the track 'Amathole' by Joezi and Lizwi. Released on 6 Dec, the package has picked up steam, with the Tayllor Remix fifth in the Energy Charts on 18 Dec. Wired was last on these pages on 19 April with Enzo Siffredi, FNX OMAR, BAQABO, 'Kiswahili Feat. BAQABO'.

The Tayllor remix reworks Joezi and Lizwi's original into something deeper and more contemplative, a record for the hours when the party filters down. The percussion is there but held close to the chest; the kick drum sets a steady pulse rather than a frantic one. Above that, echoing vocal fragments and airy hits drift in and out of a dark, warm mix. Where the original is bright and full of celebration, this version pulls the track into the shadows, making it feel intimate, almost private. It's music for a room that isn't empty, but has stopped dancing and started swaying.

Lizwi has 28 releases since 20 December 2019, mostly on King Street Sounds, Armada Music and Switch Records. Tayllor has 10 releases since 15 February 2019, for labels like Moon Rocket Music, Deep Root Tribe and AFRODISE.
