Ivory (IT), Filippo Nardini 'Could You Feel The Love?' on Innervisions

"Could You Feel The Love?" marks Ivory (IT) and Filippo Nardini's first release on Innervisions since 'Secret Weapons Part 15' in March 2023, a gap of about eight months. The track, filed as Melodic House and Techno, arrived on the label in November, and Adam Beyer placed it 10th of 10 in his "Away with me" chart on 11 January.

Ivory (IT)'s catalogue runs to 33 releases since August 2017, weighted toward Innervisions, which accounts for seven of them; the most recent before this was 'Ndiki', in the Ivory Mystical Edit, on Watergate Records, in July. Harmony sits out in front of the drums, with a lot of incident running through them. Levels sit middling, with little movement under the peaks, and the top of it runs dark, a busy, weighted mix that keeps the drums active without losing the lead line. Landing at the bottom of a chart of 10 is not a strong signal, but a return to a label this selective after eight months away still counts for something.
