GROSSOMODDO 'Silencio' on Make The Girls Dance Records

At 120 BPM, 'Silencio' is the slowest of seven Afro House records in this week's selection of new music, whose tempos run from 120 to 125 BPM. But this is not a track that feels slow. It is a record that moves at its own unhurried pace, with drums and harmony locked into a patient, rolling groove. The percussion is loose, never rushed, and the arrangement leaves room for the music to breathe even at the top of its peaks. It is loud, but it gives little under the weight of its own dynamics. The top end is dark, with a muted sheen that keeps the energy smouldering rather than blazing.
HUGEL placed the GROSSOMODDO Extended Mix at second on the Make The Girls Dance Chart Vol. 6, issued 19 Jan. Four of the ten records in the chart are on Make The Girls Dance Records, where 'Silencio' is released.
