Bylam 'San Juanero' on Made In Miami

One of the records to soundtrack the first weeks of the Tulum season has been Bylam's 'San Juanero' on Made In Miami. It was charted by HUGEL at 10th of 24 in his MTGD NYE 2025 Chart, posted 30 December.
Bylam's cut is afro house with a very particular feel. The drums sit over a simple harmonic bed, and the drum figure itself is a busy one: it runs without much change, and the feel comes from the way the percussion layers interact. The track has a forward level and some room under the peaks, which keeps the detail audible, and the top end stays bright. It all gives the record a sense of motion that works at 123 BPM in A minor.
It is a record that does not rely on a big breakdown or a drop, but rather on the constant, focused percussion. The energy comes from the drumming itself, and from the way the small variations in the pattern keep the ear locked in. For DJs working the early season sets in Tulum, it is a tool that keeps the floor moving without having to push too hard.
