Biishop, MAXI MERAKI 'Don't Leave Me' on UPPERGROUND

'Don't Leave Me' is UPPERGROUND's sixth release of 2023 on Beatport, one shy of the label's full count of seven for the year to date. The track, filed as Melodic House and Techno, arrived on the label in June, and ARTBAT placed it 12th of 12 in the BREATHE IN chart on 22 June, while Gorje Hewek placed it 18th of 23 in SUMMERUN on 4 June.

It is Biishop and MAXI MERAKI's first release on UPPERGROUND, following 'Summerians - Tulum' on Armada Music Albums, in March. Percussion leads throughout, with plenty happening across the drums. Levels sit neither loud nor quiet, moderately clear of the peaks, and the treble runs bright, an active, present mix built around rhythm. Landing at the bottom of both charts it appears in is not a strong signal on its own, but nine of the 12 records in ARTBAT's own chart already carry the UPPERGROUND name, so the label's wider run is doing fine regardless.
