Baset 'Drift' on UPPERGROUND

It's the first weeks of the Tulum season, and ARTBAT are already beginning their Fight Machine chart series for 2026. In the first edition, published on 15 January, they gave the eighth spot to Baset's 'Drift' - which is UPPERGROUND's first release by the artist after his appearance on Afterlife in September 2025 (Quantum Echoes, Pt. I).

'Drift' is a masterclass in restraint, a track that leans more into chord than drum. The percussion stays sparse, the rhythm stays forward and squeezed beneath the peaks, never letting the energy peak too early. A bright treble keeps the whole thing airy and luminous.

With 'Drift' out now, Baset's presence in the scene seems set to grow further in 2026.
