Ape Drums, Afel Bocoum, PEATY 'Alema' on Deep Root Tribe

'Alema' marks Ape Drums, Afel Bocoum and PEATY's first release on Deep Root Tribe, following 'Ode Ireti Pt. II, The Album' on Hidden Hands, in December. The track, filed as Afro House, came out on the label in October, and Francis Mercier placed it second of nine in his Je T'Aime Mi Amore chart on 24 October.

Ape Drums' catalogue runs to six releases since October 2013, weighted toward Independent, which accounts for three of them; the most recent before this was 'Discoteca', in the Edit, also on Independent, in November. The drums carry this record, though not much happens across them beyond that. Levels stay kept down, free beneath the peaks, and the top end runs shaded, a spare, patient read. Second of nine is a strong result for a first release on a new label.
