Alican, Evade (MT) 'Your New Vice' on Marginalia
Marginalia introduced the release in its own words: "a tense cut with a cinematic sense of design and widescreen grover thats detailed with fizzing pad and angelic background vocals." The Alican Remix is filed as Melodic House & Techno and was released 21 June.
Eelke Kleijn placed the track ninth of 10 in the 'Lost Strings Favourites' chart on 12 August.
Alican has released 24 records since 19 October 2012, mostly on Get Physical Music, 11, with three on Selador and two apiece on Stil Vor Talent and Natura Viva Black.
Drums sit over harmony throughout, with many hits to the beat and little movement under the peaks. It's a loud, forward mix, its top end pitched evenly between bright and dark, the kind of balance that holds its shape from the first bar to the last.

To Want To Fly is a deep house roller with organic pianos draped over the top and cosmic leads meandering their way up to the stars. Remixer Alcian hails from Turkey and has been producing since 2000. He has done it all in that time from drum & bass to breaks and house. His remix of Your New Vice is more electric, the synths get more serrated and the sound designs are sharp, bright and prickly for maximum impact in the club.
This is another compelling EP from the tastemaking Evade.
