Alex Kennon, Just Her 'Long Way Down' on Interstellar Recordings (Insomniac)

Recorded in a Berlin studio in August, the new single from Alex Kennon and Just Her lands on Insomniac's Interstellar Recordings. 'Long Way Down' is the label's seventh release of 2024, one of nine so far this year, and it is the first time either artist has appeared on the label.

A melodic house voyage, 'Long Way Down' is led by harmony rather than percussion. The drum figure is an even one, allowing space for a wide, layered chord progression. The peaks are held tight, not allowed to overrun the mix, but they still feel loud, and the bright top end keeps everything shimmering.

The single has already found favour with Space Motion, who placed it seventh of nine in his My Dreams chart on 10 August. Alex Kennon has released 27 times since February 2014, mostly on Saved Records, Toolroom, Moan and Crosstown Rebels; Just Her last appeared on Einmusika Recordings in June with 'Bella Mar 11'. Both artists push their melodic house sound forward here, and 'Long Way Down' is a strong addition to Interstellar Recordings' catalogue.
