3030, Curol 'Ogum' on OGUM
The note OGUM put out with the release says, "The rap group 3030 stands out for its unique and comprehensive approach to Brazilian music, transcending the boundaries of the genre." Adam Port placed the Curol Remix of 'Ogum' third of 10 in his God's Child chart on 26 October. The remix, filed as Afro House, came out on the label in September, running at 119 BPM.
The label adds that "the song 'Ogum' gains new life with Curol's remix." Curol's catalogue includes three releases since December 2021, spread across Enormous Tunes, All Day I Dream and ERRORR; the most recent before this was 'Wrrong Tracks Vol 01', on ERRORR, in February. The harmonic layer does the work here, with sparse percussion beneath it. The mix stays held back, with plenty of room under the peaks, and the treble runs subdued, a spacious, unhurried read. Third of 10 is a strong result for a remix built on space rather than density.
